This highly specialized workshop deals with a topic that touches all players in the real estate market but has not been examined scientifically so far. The workshop is primarily designed for Builders and Constructors, Consultants & Brokers, Taxmen and revenue officials, who will update their knowledge and skills of selecting, analyzing and synthesizing data of relevance to conduct property valuation. They will acquire techniques of preparing valuation reports for business and Professional purposes.

IMPORTANCE

Real Estate Industry is the sunshine sector of the Indian Economy. It is the second largest employer next only to agriculture and contributes upto 14-15 percent to the India's GDP. Sustained high GDP growth, upsurge in industrial activity, consumerism, favorable demographics and urbanization have created a big demand pull in the industry. With a strong growth rate of knowledge and service industries such as IT/ITes; the demand for the commercial office space has multiplied and property transactions have multiplied manifold. The upsurge in Real Estate transactions has created a huge demand of valuation experts. Valuation of Real Estate property is an important part of the Real Estate business. It is being done by a host of individuals and agencies. But the methodology leaves much to be desired. We need a proper understanding and a scientific base for valuation of property. Valuation of property impacts all players in the real estate market : developers, buyers and sellers, financiers and investors, lending agencies and project appraisers, regulators and tax collectors. However, uniformly acceptable techniques of valuation based on standard and scientific methods are yet to be evolved. This workshop is designed to focus attention on valuation of Real Estate properties. Experts will raise various issues related to the subject and try to evolve a common understanding. This will carry the valuation profession a step forward.

Acres is an Institute for management and business education in Real Estate, Property Development and associated sectors. Its mandate is to conduct Programs of education, training and research, create knowledge and develop managers/entrepreneurs of the rising generations who will change the future of cities and their communities.   • Post Graduate Diploma in Real Estate Development and Management (PGD-REDM) for graduates in engineering, business and social sciences (MBA level)

  • Graduate Diploma in Property Management (GDPM). Part time evening/week end qualification course of one year duration.

  • Diploma in Builders Business Management (DBMM) for young leaders and Family Managed Businesses (FMB) in Real Estate Enterprise

  • Executive Development Programs (EDP). Workshops/seminars of short durations, 3/7 days each, on specific topics for participants sponsored by enterprises and departments.

  • Tradesmen Training, Testing and Certification. The institute is a recognized Testing Centre and an Accredited Agency for testing and certification of tradesmen in building trades.
